Alright Now!!!
Anticipating the Ceremony. I last saw them @ this venue in '05 at their New Years' Eve gig w/Mr. Astbury,
where they brought down the house. Does anyone know if there is going to be any VIP pkgs available for this show?
I would like to surprise my "Wild Child" aka "Screaming Eagle" (Chasen) whose away at film school this year.
Brothers-ROTS see you soon!!!
Peace

Regarding the VIP packages, I posted this on the "Anaheim Gig" thread:

I purchased the "Gold VIP" package from the House of Blues for this show, which I was told includes a "meet and greet" with the band after the concert. When I asked the HOB rep if I could bring an item to be autographed and have a photo taken with Ray & Robby, I was told that "that won't be a problem". Well, it turns out it will be a problem. mad.gif Today I called the HOB back to confirm that I could take my camera just to the meet and greet (and would immediately take it back to my car), and was told in no uncertain terms that absolutely not, no cameras were allowed, even at the meet and greet. I was also told that the band will autograph a poster they are providing, but nothing else. The moral of this story is, if you're thinking about spending $105 per ticket for this package (I bought 3 tickets) and hope to get even a single photo with Ray and Robby, forget about it. Meeting these living legends will be one of the highlights of my life, and it's sad that I can't capture any of it on film. Needless to say, I'm extremely disappointed. sad.gif

Last time they played this particular House of Blues, there was an issue with cameras.

It was taken care of before the show and they were allowed in.

Thanks for the info. Incidentally, do you know if Ray and Robby are cool with allowing pics with their fans?

Thanks

When I went to the "meet and Greet" at Wolverhampton, England on 2nd January 2007, the theatre told us that there may be a problem with Cameras and advisd us to purchase the disposable type, which I did. When it came to the meet and greet itself, it was 30 secs with the boys but then Ray and Robbie posed with me, so they were OK with it. this was done after the concert, a last minute change.....we had been told that the "M and G" would be before the concert. Be prepared.............

I truly like this venue, it's small, intimate, & what I especially like
is that it's indoors.
Don't fare to well outside with large stadium arena crowds.

OUTSTANDING!!! Two hours of pure Doors love. Soft Parade again, and I swear, it sounds EXACTLY like the album. They've got that one nailed down so amazingly tight. The band was in great spirits, with Phil in a Doors shirt (love that) and Ray getting a little beer and tequila on, tequila courtesy of his sister-in-law. At one point Ray missed his "spot" and said "stop!!!", which they did, then restarted the song. Brett also boogied with his wife on stage. They took a teeny tiny break so Robby could shuttle Lynn to his side of the stage. They were totally loose and at home.

They opened with Love Me Two Times, as they did at Pac Amp. Brett changed the set during the encore and threw in Roadhouse (an absolute must to me - a Doors show is not complete without it). My ears are totally ringing like they haven't in many, many shows. I guess the HOB, in addition to their in-line "if you have a camera you can check it with me for $2" schtick, has a prohibition on treats for the audience, so there were no picks, sticks nor tambourines tossed out. They went on at 9:45 and wrapped at 11:45. Loving the Doors as much as I do, it truly makes me wonder how anybody can have a different #1 band!!! I don't take paper/pen with me to shows, preferring to immerse myself in the music, but the set list was pretty close to Pac Amp's in August.

While in line with another fan (well-known to all), she said that tomorrow's 4th & B show is postponed, because the venue has been operating without some kind of license, and that the show will be rescheduled to December. Ticketmaster also sent out the postponement email.

Anyway, the setlist, not in order (sorry), as much as I can remember:

Love Me Two Times
Waiting For The Sun
Peace Frog
Whiskey Bar
Backdoor Man
The Soft Parade
Touch Me (Sex Machine)
Five To One
Strange Days
When The Music's Over
Break On Through
L.A. Woman

Encore
Riders On The Storm
Roadhouse Blues
Light My Fire

Amazing, necessary, and life affirming music. Such a gift. THANK YOU guys. You're giving us something that we never, ever, EVER thought we'd get.
