Yeah, they sign stuff.

Cds, ticketstubs, pictures... pretty much anything but boobs.

I've seen Ian turn a pair down
Christie
I heard that Ray has been known to sign boobs.

well we all know my thoughts on my M&G experience in Glasgow at New Year so..... but FYI - Ray seems to have a problem signing t shirts etc... so dont expect him to sign clothing.

All this brings up a question.
How do you find out about meet and greets. And how would a person be able to get backstage? I've never inquired about this in my life, but it would be worth so much to me to meet these guys. A groupie I am not, just a huge fan, and I'd really like an opportunity to shake hands and maybe take a photo for my wall.

DryWater, go to the Riders On The Storm Ticketmaster page for the show in your area. If the tickets are on sale, click Find Tickets. If they aren't on sale, click More Info. This will take you to a page with ticket info for that show and if your show has a meet and greet it will say so and describe what is offered plus the price. The meet and greet for the Toronto show for example is $200.

Thanks much, friend, for the info.
So far nothing is coming up for the Chicago show, but the tickets will go on sale Saturday a.m.
Ya know, I really hate waiting...it's overrated....
peace.

You're welcome, DryWater. smile.gif Our tickets go on sale Friday.

And welcome to the site!

Peace to you.
NO ONE HERE GETS OUT ALIVE
I was at the last show in '05 in Chicago and Robbie signed some boobs but Ian did not. Robbie looked as though he really did NOT want to do that. Have them sign something that you can KEEP!!! How do you keep a signature on boobs? Tattoo it? The meet and greet was really cool but it was a REAL bummer when Ray decided to leave before anyoine got to meet him. Robbie was the man!!! He chatted with everyone as long as you wanted and he was super cool. I personally will not do the meet and greet again not knowing if Ray will stick around.

Decided to just get tickets for the show...meet and greet prices were a little steep. I'm just thrilled to be going to the show, and hopefully will arrive early enough to get up close. (it's general admission)
All the info showed up just as you said, though - THANKS again for the help.
How about you? Will you be getting photos for your wall?

Same with us, just tickets for the show. My hubby encouraged me to get the M&G {for myself only} and I thought about it but passed in the end.
I did get a Robby guitar pick at the show in Toronto in 05 and some nice pics of him, so I have a good Robby pic and his guitar pick enclosed in a magnetic plastic frame on my fridge! That makes me pretty happy! laugh.gif In addition, at the 04 show in Toronto at the Molson Amphitheater I was in the front row right in front of Ian so I had my special moment or two showing my deep appreciation to the guys. wub.gif wink.gif That seems to be enough for me right now!

BTW, again you are welcome. I like to help if I can. smile.gif

Kev, maybe you could try to get your dad to loan you the $200 or get the money as an early birthday or Christmas present {assuming you celebrate Christmas, of course! }. Just an idea. cool.gif

St Louis show was last night...i'll review the show in another thread. What I wanted to do here was ask anyone that has done the meet and greet, what was the experience like?
I've been lucky enough to have stayed at the same motel as ROTS a couple years ago and actually got to hang out and really talk. They were waiting in the hotel lobby for their van to show up so it was a really great chance for me to hang with the Best Band in the world. All the guys were GREAT!!! So friendly. Anyhow Brett/Ty hooked me up with free passes and meet and greets for last nights show in St Louis. As soon as i got to the gig i asked the Venue employee how the "meet/greet would work and noone knew how it would go down...It was if noone from the Venue knew anything about it. The show ended and over the PA it was announced that anyone with "meet/greet" should wait at the MERCH. booth. We're then told the meet/greet would take place up in the balcony and to line up at the foot of the stairs leading to the balcony. While standing there with a Venue employee waiting for word for us to head upstairs another venue employee comes stomping down the stairs and YELLS to the other venue employee that "the fucking band says the tables we set up for them are shit, and they want 6 tables now"........obviously the band wasnt happy with how the meet/greet was going down and the venue wasnt happy with the band. I'd say there were perhaps 23 or so people with meet/greets. My wife and I make our way up to the balcony...where again were greeted by another unhappy venue employee. 40 or so yards away you can see ray, robbie and brett setting at a cramped table. Only 2 or 3 people at a time are allowed to approach the guys. When I made my way to the table a security gaurd that works for ROTS takes control of the situation...he instantly is directing you to hurry,hurry.....I had time to shake Bretts hand and say a couple words..hand ray and robby a pic to sign...i'd started to ask Robby a question and was bascially pushed along by the Rots security gaurd. Robby didnt even have a chance to reply to me. When i say it lasted less than 2 mins i'm being very honest. I didnt get Bretts autograph nor was i able to even get a pic of myself with the guys....it was that rushed!!!! Like i said I got my meet/greets for free so i really cant complain too much but if i had paid the 250 bucks i wouldve really felt screwed. after this i meet up with a few others that had paid the 250 and felt the same as myself. For some reason i dont feel like this is the Normal for the meet/greets. I'm assuming there was some "riff" with the venue and it carried out into the meet/greet.???? After leaving the venue i headed out to the tour bus and there was TY and Phil Chen hanging with everyone,,,talking,,,signing autographs and taking pics with anyone and everyone for "free" and this experience was the highlight of the night and what i thought the meet/greet with Ray/Robby/Brett would be like.
Love St Louis but that venue was a "roadhouse.....basically a metal barn in the middle of a total industrial area. Yeah the crowd was of good size and no matter where you were you were close to the band,,,thats cool. I've seen the band at beautiful Red Rocks in Colorado and a few enchanting theaters so this place didnt really offer much ambience other than neon beer lights. Yeah I enjoyed the show.

I had kind of a negative experience as well athe May4th ( Surrey, B.C. ) meet & greet as well. My review of it is in the St.louis thread.
Snowman2
Sadly this is the reason that I felt I could't afford teh $200 for a meet and greet at the Cleveland show. I didn't have that kind of cash to feel disappointed. For that kind of money, I'd expect to be able to take a pick with them. I feel like I'll never get to meet these guys. All I want is to shake their hand say thanks for their great music and get a pic with them so I can display it forever. Wisful thinking I guess. Doesn't look like it'll ever happen.
In 05 at the Congress I was lucky enough to meet Doors71 and Skaneskinbabe and they gave me a pass. I was in line and then a guard came up and said that no-one else could go back... more than half the people with passes couldn't go. That was wayyy too dissapointing.
nostylesolitaire
It is really a pity to read about all this disappointing experiences. I was lucky (or was it just because I paid more?). I spent NYE in London with the guys and it was a real cool experience.

I don't want to post the whole story here because it is too long and contains a lot of irrelevant personal stuff but if you wanna you can check it out on my blog: http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseacti...39-880720e625e8

Äääähhh, well I paid 500 bucks for it but it was worth every penny. We had exquisite dinner (which I was not able to eat because I was too excited) and free drinks (was able to do that a lot cool.gif ). The staff from the venue was very kind and everything was excellently organised. I think it depends a lot on the venue. So: THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN ROUNDOUSE IN LONDON!

Hey everyone...after the shitty meet and greet with ray, robby and Brett my wife and I went out to the tour bus where we met up with Ty and Phil who hung out ,took pics and signed autographs for free. They were real cool about it. so head to the bus.

I was just at the show in Chicago. We were all rounded up for the M & G and waited in a line til the band came out. They gave us a limit of three items for each member to get signed. Have it ready to present when its your turn. This is important so you don't get rushed away because you aren't prepared. All the guys were there so it was inspirational. There were a lot of people lined up so the hustle thru the line was understandable. I guess they don't want everyone hanging around and drooling so all can get their chance. You get one photo opportunity so make it a good one. Ray is courteous, Robby is easy going, the other guys are just glad you pay attention to them. It was fun. I'd do it again but just remember to be ready. cool.gif

YEAH I WAS AT THE CHICAGO SHOW ON MAY 14TH AND I HAD MY TYE DYE SIGNED BY RAY AND ROBBIE, AND MY VIP PASS AND TICKET STUB SIGNED BY THE WHOLE BAND. A VERY VERY AWESOME EXPERIENCE I WILL NEVER FORGET. LONG LIVE THE DOORS AND THANKS TO ROTS STORM FOR GIVING ME AN OPPORTUNITY TO EXPERIENCE IT. I NEVER THOUGHT IT WOULD HAPPEN
