Wow...the posts have slown way down. I guess everyones had enough time to adjust to Ian being gone so i'm assuming like myself were all just waiting for the news...that being the new singer.
Has anyone heard anything? I'll take a rumor right now...ha ha ha. I heard David Lee Roth is recently available again. Only joking of course!!! Someone told me a rumor to the effect that they heard The Doors would be part of The Dead tour this summer,,,sounds silly to me. I know in Rays book, Light My Fire i thought i'd read that the two bands didnt get along...now thats been years ago concerning The Dead refusing to let The Doors use some equipment but again thats been years and Ray or Robbie dont seem the type to hold grudges..anyhow I still dont know if it would be a good mix of music or fans. I thought a traveling festival featuring The Doors sounded like a great idea. I know I love to hear live music and it would be really cool if say The Doors could get a few choice opening acts,,,,Govt Mule? Robert Randolf Band? Blue Traveler? etc.... or how about THE CULT..then ian could do both. hmmmmm? The Cult and The Doors on one bill????

some people think they're done for good.

some of robbys comments at the walk of fame inspires hope for getting together, one (million) more times...

who knows - i think people are just gonna sit back and see what happens.

i have faith in few, ray and robby make my 'short list'.

They did a festival tour in 2005, The Strange Days tour, it was cool but ultimately a bit of a let down because the band was stuck to short times on stage and just stuck with the classics

Going by Ray's statement on his website homepage, it seems they're far from done

I dont think theyr done yet..lets hope not. I know it'll end soon enough but i gotta see at least one more show or two. I'd think we'll know something soon enough.
Yeah i knew about the Strange Days Tour before it was even announced...if you notice my profile pic i got to meet the band...i traveled to Iowa to see them and just happened to stay at the same hotel...i met Ty a couple hours after the show at IHOP next to the hotel and then the next morning as i was checking out...the whole band came down to the lobby to leave but the van they were waiting on was late so lucky me got to sit around and talk to the guys...it was truly cool. I had a chance to really talk to them and not just exchange small talk like "great show man" and shit like that...Ray was even cool enough to take me to the hotels lobby computer and show me the posters for the then unannounced Strange Days Tour....anyhow hanging out with them was great and a high light in my life for sure.
