Upon buying and putting on The Doors' first album, I'm treated to a Morrison vocal I'd not heard on the previous Masters of the this record. "she get (high)"...

For some reason (don't know 'bout the rest of the world), but in Australia, our Doors (first remasters by the doors/botnick) had the word "high" removed...

Was this true for the rest of the world?

Because I didn't know that on the original Un-Tampered with recording, Jim said "high" after "she get"...

Overall I think the '99 remasters are very good, but, perhaps missing "something", an oomph here and there, the highs/lows in certain parts of the music.

Perhaps you need to hear both the '99/original CD remasterings to get the WHOLE Doors audio experience.
