Can't believe that I apparently managed to get the last golden ticket for Glasgow Armadillo!
Saw the band a couple of years ago at the SECC,and thought the gig was brilliant.
Don't know my seat number yet,but can't wait all the same !!!

yeah it seems like the golden tickets will be the first few rows in the middle seats ( middle of the stage ) mmm and i wonder how many golden tickets there where if rider got the last one. This will be the 3rd time seeing them for me saw them first at wembley in 2003 then secc 2004 and i can't wait. smile.gif
sevenmiles
Never seen them before, so excited about it! smile.gif

Seen them in Dublin in May (i think it was may) and they were mind blowing. That night prompted me to one of my longest posts ever (pinned at the top of this board). This night ought to be a cracker too....still cant believe im middle front row. Itll be some night guys - we will all be within touching distance so we DEFINITELY need to hook up.

Especially for the people coming to Scotland for the first time, or on their own - we will help ya have a good time wink.gif

When I booked my ticket last Wednesday,I was told directly that it was the very last one available. Picked my booked ticket up at the weekend!!!! I've got seat D26. Anyone out there in Doors land got one near me? Spoke to the box office guy,who confirmed that it's the first four rows in the centre block for golden tickets. When asked how many that meant, the reply was "about 50". I think that that's a mangaeable number,as regards people getting some quality time to chat with the band. If people think that the £100 price tag is expensive, then take a look at the prices for Wolverhampton, and Manchester, where the golden ticket price appears to be £159!!! I also asked the guy what time that golden ticket holders were to arrive, but he said that he'd get back to me,which he hasn't done up to now at least. Have read a few posts where folk have wondered what they would say to the band. Well, I would ask Ian about being Oliver Stone's first choice to play Jim,in the Doors film. Never knew that before a couple of days ago, when I took the time to look at some stuff on the Internet. I'd be asking Ray and Robbie if they knew him at all before the film came about,or was it a case that the musical relationship developed from that point onwards. Quite like the idea of potentially meeting up with other golden ticket holders beforehand. Hope that there's some fellow Riders out there who wish to do the same.

i picked up my tickets the other day (seats A5&6) and was told the ticket office dont even have any information on what to expect for the M&G. They told me they usually get the information for official purposes (you know... for office use only sort of thing and not for public information) on the day before the gig itself. I thanked the lassie and had a joke about how useless that would be to all of us!

If i hear anything more ill post it on here, but for anyone in glasgow on the day, i would suggest a phonecall to the secc ticket office in the morning to check whats going on - as they wont release anything to the public domain until its too late.

Ya I was also wondering how this worked and what time it would be and all of that. On a somewhat separate note, I will be going to Scotland for the first time...I'm an American college student studying in London this year. I only have like 3 days in Scotland and was not sure what to do. I know that Edinburgh is very close...do you think I should go there for 3 days then come to Glasgow just for the concert or do you think there are things to do in Glasgow for 3 days? I want to decide soon so I can book transportation and find someone to stay with...anyone here want to put up a fellow doors fan from Dec 27th to morning after concert on the 30th?

If its of any use, the Lass at the Wolverhampton booking office told me that I would be e mailed details of the "meet and Greet" - what to do etc, nearer the time. - Let's hope so........ Otherwise all we can do is turn up early and hope that the gigs are manned with clued up folk on the day.
Wolverhampton is 2nd of Jan.....Can't wait!!

Regards

Gotta say that is a cool looking venue

Well a lot of people are under the impression (very misguided impression) that Edinburgh is the only place to be in Scotland.... and it just isnt true. The glasgow night life outstrips theEdinburgh nightlife by a mile these days im told (im in dublin now so...) and whilst the architecture in Edinburgh is very nice to look at - both cities are equally ancient, and equally historic, and equally architecturally significant. Now... if architecture wasnt your thing in the first place then i can only imagine youd be wanting to see Edinburgh Castle....and grey friars grave etc... but once youve seen it - youve seen it! You can spend a day wandering around Edinburgh and then shoot through to Glasgow and do the same things again there! Glasgow has a few excellent museums if thats your deal, it has a great West End which is full of the student and music culture - just made for all-day drinking prior to the doors gig. Trust me - spend 3 days in Edinburgh and you WILL get bored on Day 2. Its close enough that you could split your days economically and get the best of both worlds.

MySuggestion would be

1) Edinburgh tours
2) Glasgow tour, pub scene, west end and music
3) doors gig
