Well, it's almost 7:00 in Frankfurt, and they are probably just about to open up the doors for the thousands of fans waiting to get into the venue. Hopefully we'll start hearing some reviews in the next 24 hours.

Hey Jimbo, do you happen to know who wrote the lyrics of: "Eagle in the whirpool"
Scardanelli
Michael McClure

I'M AN EAGLE IN THE WHIRLPOOL.
I'm the fox of reason.
I have had my head bent for truth and treason.
I'm a star in the sunny moon light.
I'm the stumbling fool.
I'm the horse of night
careening on the cliff of flight.
Won't you kiss me?
Won't you hug me?
Please
tell me my name.
I'm the hand of April
with my fingers made of fame.
Come kiss me on my elbow.
Bless
my
mind
good night.
Sweet old flame.
Sweet old flame.
Bless my mind goodnight.
Come kiss me on my elbow.
With my fingers made of fame,
I'm the hand of April.
Tell me my name.
Please,
won't you hug me?
Won't you kiss me?
Careening on the cliff of flight.
I'm the horse of night.
I'm the stumbling fool.
I'm a star in the sunny noon light.
I have had my head bent for truth and treason.
I'm the fox of reason.
I'm an eagle in the whirlpool.

Yes its McClure and I've posted the lyrics before as Scardanelli just did but after finally hearing the recording it appears they've altered the original version just a tad in places.

Can you give the Riders' text?
You are right, my version is from a McClure-page.

smile.gif Hello together,

we got together one more time ...
The show is over since 3 hours and it was great again after
the first time i seen them in Bonn two years ago.
It started with the Carmina and the classic message 'Ladies and
Gentlemen...' and after that the Roadhouse Blues.
Maybe we get the exactly setlist later but i reviewed the Berlin and
it was nearly the same. They played instead 'Not to touch the earth'
then '21st Century fox' and 'Moonlight Drive'. Robbie and Ray were
good-humored and the audience was also great.
Hopefully somebody can post good pictures. There are enough in the
audience who had good digicams. I did some Handypictures but they are
to poor to post.
The sound in the hall was very good. Unfortunately nobody from the band
came back after the show for some autographs. There were many fans who
waited - like me.
Since when does Robbie uses plectrums? I saw that he used some.
A great evening with the Riders - thank's for beeing again
in germany - hope you will comeback!

Glad you had a great time. Did they play any new songs? I hate seeing them leave them off the setlist. 21st Century Fox, been awhile since that one

Some of it is a tad inaudible for me right now, but I'll keep listening

"A star in the sunny moonlight" is repeated much more than it is written in the lyrics that are posted here.

Hi Fans,

here is a picture of the original set list (they throwed it into the audience when leaving the stage).

But they finished after LMF, did not perform "Soul Kitchen". "20st Century Fox" they changed into "21st Century Fox". And as a kind of intro to "Thouch me" they performed some lines of "Sex Machine".

Although cameras were strictly forbidden, I saw hundrets of people taking photos and videos. So, I hope to find some goods pics here soon. I myself only got some poor-quality-shots with my cellphone, like this one:

If you, though, want to see some more, please take a look at ROTS Frankfurt photos

Wow, 20th Century Fox, that's a real treat! Love to hear a recording from that one!

Thank you, jimbo! smile.gif
Well, 4800 people is the capacity of the Jahrhunderthalle. I heard, that all seat places (ca. 2400) were sold out, but what I saw was, that about 1/3 of the seats were still empty. So I would say that the total number of concert visitors could have been more than 3000.

Additional info:

On Easter Monday afternoon, HR1 (a regional radio station and co-promoter of the ROTS concert) performed a broadcast named "Songtext". People could vote for songs in English language, which they wanted to get professionally translated into German. It was a kind of contest, and the song with the most requests was the winner.

Well, between the 16 mostly wanted great international hits was one Doors-song: Riders on the Storm. And the winner was ... of course! smile.gif

I was in Frankfurt too and it was so great, In the end my girlfriend get one of the setlists and Robby Kriegers Bottle of Water wink.gif

I'm so happy they performed SPANISH CARAVAN and 20TH CENTURY FOX. I was really surprised.

PEACE FROG was great too. I hope the doors-fans will accept Ian cause he does an really good job and if he talked to the audience to get in the song (L.A. Woman) to sing "Mr. Mojo Risin". He shoted to the audience "C'mon this is for Jim, this is for Jim....."

Sorry for my bad bad english, but I'll try my best wink.gif

Hi, I´ve also been in Frankfurt yesterday. I posted 18 pictures and 2 short videos in the Robby Krieger Forum. If you´re interested you can watch them there.

Here are the lyrics to Eagle in the Whirlpool as they were in Berlin last week. I listened to it many times through (trust me, it's not a chore wink.gif) and modified the existing lyrics we had. I can't comprehend just two lines, represented by "???". If I had to guess what they were to me it sounds like "here comes the devil again." Enjoy!

I'M AN EAGLE IN THE WHIRLPOOL.
I'm the fox of reason.
I have had my head bent for truth and treason.
The star in the sunny moon light
I'm a star in the sunny moon light.
I'm the stumbling fool.
The horse of night
careening on the cliff of flight.
Won't you kiss me?
Won't you kill me?
Won't you miss me?
Won't you thrill me?
Please tell me my name.
Please tell me my name
I'm the hand of April
with my fingers made of fame.
Come kiss me on my elbow.
Bless my mind goodnight.
Sweet old flame.
Sweet old flame.
???
???
The stumbling fool
The horse of night
Come kiss me on my elbow.
Bless my mind goodnight.
I'm a star in the sunny moonlight.
Round and round
Round and round
Round and round
Round and round
Round and round
Round and round
I'm an eagle in the whirlpool.
The fox of reason.
I have had my head bent for truth and treason.
The star in the sunny moon light
The star in the sunny moon light
I'm a star
A star in the sunny moon light
I'm a star
A star in the sunny moon light
I'm a star
A star in the sunny moon light
I'm a star
A star in the sunny moon light
