I think they've gotta go for a combination of the huge megalithic numbers they have - like The Soft Parade - oh god I'd love to hear that live. They would deserve an MTV Music Award just for pulling off the logistics of it with a full orchestra! And maybe Ray could have an old fashioned VOX Continental whipped out for it!
I'd love (in my wildest dreams!) to see a setlist that read:
1. Light My Fire (10 Minutes)
2. When The Music's Over (15 Minutes)
3. Not To Touch The Earth and the full-blown Celebration of the Lizard (30 Minutes)
4. The Soft Parade (15 Minutes)
5. Queen Of The Highway/The Spy/Indian Summer (10 Minutes)
6. LA Woman (12 Minutes)
7. Riders On The Storm (45 Minutes - with a large Ray solo - like he did at the La Scene Club in Paris on December 8th 2003 - what a performance by a keyboard master - that gig convinced me that Ray is the greatest organist since Johann Sebastian Bach - I'm not joking

)
8. The End (20 Minutes)
That would give a concert time of: 157 Minutes!!! Not counting time between songs - Ray entertaining us all with his great stories, Robby being his usual gobby noisy self on the microphone(!!!) - he never knows when to stop! Ha ha! Ian - king of cool - telling it like a lost English hitchhiker on Route 66 having found enlightenment on the side road of the doors ala Jack Kerouac - from Warrington to West Coast LA!) and Ty Dennis beatin' on along with the great talent he's developed for this music and Phil Chen's twanging raw bass enthusiasm.
Oh god, I think I just described my first night in musical paradise. And that's just 8 songs out of The Doors catalogue of over 50!
My other ideal world gig scenario would be arriving at 5pm for a show and seeing the band play every single song from Break On Through To The Other Side to Riders On The Storm (as well as Other Voices, Full Circle and the new stuff I haven't heard yet like American Express and Eagle In The Whirlpool - god that title sounds so cool - christ knows how good the song is - get it released NOW! Before it gets pirated or something!)
Anyway, I'll see what Santa brings this Christmas (please please please a list of Doors, sorry ROTS gigs in the UK!!! Please Santa - I'm beggin ya, I'll do anything. But not that!

)
I hope these beloved friends of ours play until they're 202 years old! I figure I've travelled now in total about 7,500 miles (including return flights!) in order to watch this band play on 7 nights. Put them together into one week, and I don't think any human being would have enjoyed himself as much as I have. When you throw in meeting Ray, Robby, Ian, Ty and Phil after the Paris and Manchester shows, my god, thank you guys, you have no idea how much fun and happiness you've added to my life and that of countless others

Thank you so very very much.
