dry.gif Hi ALL...I guess this is one for Dave/Jimbo? Does anybody have an inckling when the 2006 tour schedule for Riders On The Storm will be released? I know I am not the only one anxiously awaiting.....I want to start planning on when and where I can see them...hopefully they will be at a venues close enough to me that I can see them several times. I am praying for that! So if you have any info you can share at this time for us....I would appreciate it.
Peace to All!

Shows dont usually get announced till maybe a month or two in advance. If I was to guess, on pure speculation, is that our next announcement would be of a New Year's Eve show should there be one. Then once the New Year rings in we'll hear about the 2006 schedule as it gets closer. Riders dont tour full stretches at a time, they do around 6 or 7 shows and take a few weeks off. Those shows tend to get announced in a grouping. Now as to when we'll see the first batch of 2006 shows, that could be any time. It all depends on studio time, band member commitments and what not.

Right when Tom V tells me dates, I tell you guys. I have no idea when he'll give me the next batch.

Dave,

Can the synch permission prohibition turn into a show prohibition ? I'm not a legal expert, but, from my point of view I think we are under this risk as well.

This is really starting to look like an "Exterminate Riders" operation now...which is just too sad...

No one can stop anyone from performing the Doors music live, hell I did it not long ago cool.gif However synch licenses are required to put Doors music out on video. The way I see it as now, Riders wont be able to release another DVD unless the only songs it consists of are Riders on the Storm songs a la Cops Talk.

What about the new studio album ROTS might release? Will it be able to have any original Doors songs on?

yes, should they choose to go that route. Personally, I dont want them to but thats just not me

I think it would be cool for the album to have some Doors songs on...obviously we don't want a remake of an original album, perhaps a mixture of old and new would be good.

I realy liked their reworking of Strange Days. Other than that, I'd like to see an album of all new tunes. And the sync licenses ONLY apply to video, thus the "synching" of audio to video. Nobody can keep Ray and Robby from playing Doors tunes live.

So then I assume, nothing should stop them from another disclive show correct?

As far as I know, they can do more. I don't know any reason why they couldn't.

Jimbo & Dave,

Thanks for the clearing smile.gif

As a fan, and knowing through the reviews how Buenos Aires and Tokyo went along, I sincerely hope all this BS ends so the fans get to share these experiences with the band.

It really does not make any sense to me...these dvds would only trigger more sales to all Doors stuff...
