Poet Yvonne de la Vega here. I'll be hosting a segment on BlogTalk Radio tomorrow night at 8pm. I'll be playing some pieces that Ray and I recorded together in 1991. All are welcome to call in and ask a question or share their own experience in respect for Ray's genius and his love for the Spoken Word.
I have sent Mr Manzarek an email to invite him to call in as well, let's see if that goes down- keep in mind that he IS a family man and it IS Sunday, so I can't guarantee it, but we'll have a great time nonetheless listening to the tracks listed in the segment description below.

"Working With Ray Manzarek" Spoken Word and Jazz/Music Radio hosted by Poet/ Recording Artist Yvonne de la Vega, Co-hosted by Milo Martin. This segment includes Spoken Word & Jazz recordings produced by Ray Manzarek in 1991. spoken Word/Jazz tunes featured this segment are "Eastside Story", and "Many Loves", written & performed by Yvonne de la Vega, with Ray Manzarek on the piano, Karl Vincent on upright bass, Louis Taylor on saxophone and Nirinkar Singh Kalsa on percussion. Every week select special guests co-host. Recorded works in the genre played on the air. While the focus is mainly on jazz music, all genres will be included if in support of the Spoken Word. On occasion, select music will be featured if the lyric content is obviously and highly poetic. Highlight topics include Spoken Word Artists of the past and present as well as past influential entities in the genre. Sub-topics include how to book recording studios, how to meet musicians, how to select the right tune to back up your poetry at which time listeners can dial in and ask a question. Informative content will vary depending on Special Guests.
