I haven't seen this one, but he wasn't the director. I think, as you said, he was interviewed, but that's it.

Related to this topic I saw this movie called My dinner with Jimi (Hendrix) that is about The Turtles, Jim shows up for two scenes. It said Danny Sugerman was a consultant. Check it out:

Itīs interesting, as I posted on The Doors board the characters are a bit too like caricatures for me. The Beatles are shown as extremely arrogant as are most of the other people. The scene with Jim, he comes (drunk) into the Turtles table at a place called Canters Deli (where is Zappa and Mamma Cass too). Jim comes and jumps over the table when they are reading their reviews in the newspaper, Jim askes what they are reading, they refuse to show him but Jim gets it and he reads pretty bad reviews about The Doors having the 'worst stage presence'. The guys try to be suportive 'hey Jim, they donīt get it' but Jim doesnīt pay much attention anyway and walks away to 'dry his lizard'.

Sounds a lot like Stone's version on Jim. It will be nice to see the "real Jim" for once in the '07 Doors documentary.
