"Ray Manzarek of the Doors" will be performing at the Rogue Theater on 3-17 BUT is it Ray only or is it Ray AND Robby Krieger??? If it's only Ray Manzarek then what will the performance be like? Will Ray be solo or will he have a band or what??? Any additional info would be great!
Thanks

this is very true...anybody who went to see 'Ray Manzarek and Friends" at St.Rita high school and left after a set from Riders on the Storm can attest to that cool.gif

I will be going Mary-Beth! I live 15 miles north of Grants Pass and I work just 1 mile west of the Rogue Theater! Also My Mom, Uncle and my Mom's boyfriend will be going as well.

BTW I am 26 years old and the only thing I know about The Doors is the movie The Doors.

biggrin.gif tacker, I am so happy for you that you are able to see Ray and maybe anybody else who may show up...I know you will have a blast. Did you like the movie "The Doors"? Does your Mom or maybe your Uncle have any Doors CD's that you might be able to listen to before you go see Ray? I/we over here are quite prejudice when it comes to "The Doors".........they have literally change most of our lives...for the better.
Ray is the "Keyboard God", Robby Krieger is the "Guitar God", John Densmore was the "Drummer God"
and Jim Morrison is just "The Rock God"...so if you have a question about "The Doors" we would love to answer them for you......
Peace,

A couple questions for ya Mary-Beth:

Why is Ray performing at a little 400 seat theater in a small town? Everybody has heard of The Doors so you would think that he wouldn't play out here at all!

What will we be expecting when Ray is on stage? What songs will he play? Will he have a band?

As for me and The Doors I will rent the movie again and I will also get some cd's at the library. It has been years since I have seen the movie so I can't say much about it.

cool.gif Hey there Tacker, I'm not sure I have any "real" answers for you because they would have to come directly from Ray himself.....with that said I could speculate if you would like...but it would only be speculation, Dave, who is our webmaster here may be able to shed a clearer light on your questions....so Dave, please answer if you can???? For the moment I will just speculate for you, tacker.
1st question: Why is Ray performing at a little 400 seat theater in a small town? Everybody has heard of The Doors so you would think that he wouldn't play out here at all! ........Ray like to play in intimate settings, he has played in small venues many times before this one, I think it's about taking the music and show where ever...and just to be able to preform for the fans...that's what's important to Ray!

2nd Question:What will we be expecting when Ray is on stage? What songs will he play? Will he have a band?
.....Ray is just a phenomal human being and excellent communicator, and a dynamite musician...beyond that I can't answer anything else because I am not Ray and unfortunately i am not privy to that info.....as i said before Dave, our webmaster here and he also is Ray's webmaster at www,RayManzarek.com Dave may be able to answer those question because he does indeed speak to Ray from time to time.

Definitely rent the movie...actually you may be better off just buying the movie, I think they have it at "Best Buys" for 9.99, becaue that may be something you would want to hang onto and watch.....I myself have watched it over 50 times...and each time I see something I didn't see........hang out here and read the posts.....all I know is you are in for a real treat when you see Ray!!! Hope I helped you out alittle.
